Join us at our first Star Party!

Star Party

The Athenaeum Astronomy Association is delighted to be hosting St Edmundsbury Borough Council's biannual Star Party next month.

Explore the wonders of the firmament at our dark-sky site in Nowton Park, where our members will introduce specific aspects of the night sky in March, finding and identifying a number of prominent constellations, nebulae, star clusters and galaxies as they are seen through different kinds of telescopes and binoculars. There will also be expert advice on hand for those wishing to learn about astrophotography.

If conditions are unfavourable, the event will still go ahead but with greater emphasis on indoor activities. Suitable for all ages. All children must be supervised. Please wear suitable outdoor clothing and bring a torch for walking to and from the car park.

TICKETS FOR THIS EVENT ARE NOW SOLD OUT. DUE TO THE POPULARITY OF STAR PARTIES WE HOPE TO INCREASE THE NUMBER WE RUN IN FUTURE.
